Sweet Austrian Plum Dumplings
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 1.1 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Citric Acid - 0.4 oz
- Pear Jam - 8 teaspoons
- Vanilla salt - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour and make a well in the center. Add the yeast, 5 tablespoons of milk, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and citric acid. Knead the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 2
Divide the dough into dumplings. Make an indentation in each dumpling with your finger and place plum jam inside. Pinch the edges of the dumpling closed.
Step 3
Let the dumplings rise for another 30 minutes.
Step 4
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and drop in the dumplings. Cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings, brush with butter, and sprinkle with sugar.
