Sweet Cheese Dumplings

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 3.5 oz
  • Cottage cheese - 17.6 oz
  • Sugar - 1.8 oz
  • Egg white - 1 piece
  • Salt - to taste
  • Butter - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

I use homemade cottage cheese, which I recommend you do as well. We will place it in a bowl, add sugar, and thoroughly mash it with a spoon. During the mashing process, you can add a little salt to the cottage cheese to your taste.

Step 2

Now we crack one egg into the cottage cheese and mix it until homogeneous, just like we did with the sugar.

Step 3

We will divide the flour we have in half; we will add half to the cottage cheese and egg mixture now, and leave the other half for the process of shaping the lazy dumplings as a dusting.

Step 4

On a cutting board, sprinkle a little flour and place the cottage cheese mixture in a mound.

Step 5

Using our hands, we lightly roll the cottage cheese dough into a sausage shape.

Step 6

We cut the sausage-shaped dough into small pieces using a sharp knife.

Step 7

Now we pour about three liters of water into a pot, place it on the heat, and bring it to a boil. After the water has boiled, we will gradually cook our lazy dumplings. We drop the dumplings into the boiling water, bring them back to a boil, and cook them over medium heat for about three minutes.

Step 8

We will scoop the finished dumplings out of the pot with a slotted spoon, place them on a plate while still hot, and generously coat them with butter. If desired, you can add a little sour cream to the dumplings.
