  • Milk - 17 fl oz
  • Sugar - 3.5 oz
  • Raisins - 1.8 oz
  • Dried Apricots - 3.5 oz
  • Salt - ½ spoons
  • Maple syrup - 3 fl oz
  • Butter - 0.7 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Bring the milk, sugar, and salt to a boil. Reduce the heat so that the milk is barely simmering, then gradually stir in the cornmeal, finely chopped dried apricots, and raisins. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken. Some types of polenta require nearly forty minutes to cook, while others may be ready in just five minutes. When buying cornmeal in the store, check the cooking time indicated on the package.

Step 2

Transfer the thickened polenta to a greased baking dish and let it cool for half an hour. During this time, it will transform from a porridge into a firm cake. This cake can be stored for nearly a week. Before serving, place it in a preheated oven at 392°F for five minutes. Once done, remove, cut into portions, and serve drizzled with maple syrup.
