Description
The alcohol will not be noticeable in the baked goods. Vodka is added for a light rise of the dough, and the final products turn out much more tender, airy, and importantly, they stay fresh and soft for longer. This recipe yields a large amount of dough. If you need less, simply divide all ingredients by 2.
Ingredients
- Milk - 1 qt
- Butter - 26.5 oz
- Dry yeast - 1.1 oz
- Sugar - 19.4 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 10 pieces
- Vanilla salt - to taste
- Salt - a pinch
- Vodka - 3 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 7 lbs
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast (4 packets of 7 grams each) in warm milk (99°F — this is important), add 150 grams of sugar and some flour (to achieve a consistency similar to sour cream), mix and let rise in a warm place, away from drafts. The mixture should increase in volume by 1.5–2 times.
Step 2
To the prepared mixture, add the eggs, beaten with the remaining sugar and salt, melted and cooled butter, vanilla, room temperature vodka, and flour.
Step 3
Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and stops sticking to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place.
Step 4
The dough needs to be punched down twice during the process. When it rises for the third time, you can bake the products.
