Description
Nusstorte, a Swiss nut cake.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 20 oz
- Sugar - 10 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Butter - 10 oz
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Brown Sugar - 10 oz
- Walnuts - 15 oz
- 10% cream - 10 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Sifted flour is mixed with sugar and salt.
Step 3
Add the butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Then add the egg and knead into a smooth dough (if necessary, you can add a spoonful of ice water). Refrigerate for 25 minutes.
Step 5
Roll out a portion of the dough and cut out a circle using a pie cutter, cover it with plastic wrap, and place it in the refrigerator. This will be the pie crust.
Step 6
Roll out the remaining dough and place it in a baking dish, creating a crust with sides approximately 3 centimeters high. Prick the bottom with a fork and put it in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Melt the brown sugar, add the nuts, stir, add the cream, bring to a boil, and keep it on the heat for 5-10 minutes until the mixture turns a caramel color.
Step 8
Pour the nut and cream mixture into the pastry shell.
Step 9
Cover with a dough lid, seal the edges with a fork, and poke holes in the lid.
Step 10
Bake in an oven preheated to 355°F for 50-60 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Step 11
Serve.
