Ingredients
- Mandarins - 2 pieces
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
- Salt - a pinch
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Orange Syrup - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Separate the 3 eggs into whites and yolks; place the whites in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Whisk the yolks with ½ cup of sugar until dissolved.
Step 3
Grate the zest from 2-3 tangerines and half a lemon.
Step 4
Cut the tangerine and lemon segments in half (for the brave, you can also remove the membranes).
Step 5
Slightly salt the egg whites and start beating, gradually adding ½ cup of sugar.
Step 6
Combine the yolks with the egg whites, stirring clockwise.
Step 7
Add 1 cup of sifted flour and mix.
Step 8
Pour in 2 tablespoons of orange syrup (I bought it specifically for baking; it gives the dough a pleasant yellow color).
Step 9
Add the citrus segments and zest, and mix everything together.
Step 10
Grease a baking dish with butter, pour in the batter, and bake until done at a temperature of 356°F.
