Tartlets with Chocolate Truffles and Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • Shortcrust Cake Mix - 21.2 oz
  • Liquid dark chocolate - 8.1 oz
  • Cream (40%) - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1½ teaspoons
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Sweet Cream Butter - to taste
  • Grated Chocolate - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 428°F.

Step 2

Roll out the dough and cut out 30 circles. Carefully place each circle into the bottom of muffin tins and press with a fork.

Step 3

Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden brown. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely, about 20 minutes.

Step 4

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the cream and chopped chocolate. Place over low heat and stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt, and cool for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the chocolate mixture into each tartlet. Cover and chill for 1–24 hours.

Step 6

Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
