Description
Tartlets with Red Onion and Cheese
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry - 7.1 oz
- Balsamic Vinegar - 6 tablespoons
- Spanish onions - 31.7 oz
- Butter - 0.9 oz
- Farmers cheese - 7.1 oz
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 0.2 oz
- Olive Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cayenne Pepper - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, melt the butter, add the sliced onion, vinegar, chopped sage, season with salt and black pepper, and cook over low heat without a lid, stirring constantly. After 30 minutes, when the mixture is glazed and all the liquid has evaporated, remove from heat and let cool.
Step 2
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut out small circles.
Step 3
Grease the muffin tins with olive oil and line them with the pastry circles, covering the bottom and sides.
Step 4
Place the tins in a preheated oven for five minutes.
Step 5
Remove the pastry cases from the oven, distribute the onion mixture among the tartlets, and top with a piece of sheep cheese. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper and return to the oven for 20 minutes.
