The Quickest Candied Pumpkin and Apple
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 2 lbs
- Sugar - 14.1 oz
- Water - 7 fl oz
- Lemon - ½ pieces
- Apple - 3 pieces
- Ground Cinnamon - to taste
- Fine white sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the pumpkin and remove the seeds.
Step 3
Cut the pumpkin into wedges, then slice them thinly to a thickness of 5–7 mm.
Step 4
Remove the seeds from the apples, slice them thinly, and drizzle with lemon juice.
Step 5
Boil a syrup using 200 ml of water and 400 grams of sugar.
Step 6
Drop the pieces of pumpkin and apple into the syrup, and add the remaining lemon juice. You may need to cook in batches since the syrup will be limited.
Step 7
Cook over low heat until tender, about 10 minutes.
Step 8
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the pumpkin and apples in a single layer.
Step 9
Place in a preheated oven at 266°F for 1 hour.
Step 10
Allow to cool, then sprinkle with a mixture of fine sugar and cinnamon.
Step 11
Serve with tea.
