Description
I used about 400 grams of flour, so don't rush to pour it all into the bowl at once. I always add a little more than half of the required amount, and then add more during the process. I added chopped garlic to the light dough, which gave the bread an amazing aroma. I didn't have any nuts, so I sprinkled a mixture of seeds instead. Next time, I will use more herbs to make the color more pronounced.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 3 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Cream - 1 tablespoon
- Ground Caraway - 1 teaspoon
- Toasted Sesame - 1 teaspoon
- Nuts - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour into a large bowl. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Pour the milk with yeast into the flour, add the chopped butter, salt, and sugar. Knead the dough.
Step 2
Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes, adding flour if necessary. Shape into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Wash, dry, and chop the herbs. Divide the dough into three parts.
Step 4
Add herbs to one part, paprika and chili to the second. Leave the third part as is.
Step 5
Let it rest for another 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease a baking sheet with oil. Lightly beat the egg and cream together. Brush the braid with the mixture. Sprinkle the dough with herbs with caraway seeds, the dough with red pepper with sesame seeds, and the plain dough with nuts.
Step 6
Place the bread on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
