Description
You can serve it in dessert cups (it looks very impressive in brandy glasses). You can replace the ladyfingers with ready-made cake layers.
Ingredients
- Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande - 8.8 oz
- Cognac - 2 teaspoons
- Powdered Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Instant coffee - 6 tablespoons
- Cocoa Powder - 2 tablespoons
- Ladyfinger Cookies - 14 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Whisk the egg yolks with powdered sugar until a white fluffy mass forms. Gently mix the mascarpone (at room temperature) until smooth (be very careful, as it can quickly turn to butter). Combine the mascarpone with the sugar-yolk mixture (also by hand).
Step 2
Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt — gently fold them into the cheese-yolk-sugar mixture.
Step 3
Mix the coffee with the alcohol (I used cognac, and a little water, as my child also loves this dessert).
Step 4
Quickly dip the ladyfingers in the mixture (so they don't get soggy) and layer them in the dish, 6–7 pieces per layer.
Step 5
Add a layer of cream on top, and continue layering, finishing with cream, then dust with cocoa powder, and top with chocolate shavings.
Step 6
Refrigerate for 5–6 hours, or preferably overnight!
