- Pitted olives - 5.3 oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- White Beans - 1 piece
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Brown Sugar - 7.9 oz
- Cream - 2 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine the dates, baking soda, and 350 ml of boiling water and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Beat 90 g of butter with granulated sugar. Add the egg and vanilla seeds, and mix well.
Step 3
Reduce the mixer speed and add the flour and baking powder. Pour the date mixture into the batter. Mix well until you have a liquid batter. Pour into a greased rectangular mold (33x20 cm). Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean from the pudding.
Step 4
In a saucepan, bring the brown sugar, cream, and 60 g of butter to a boil. Boil for 1 minute.
Step 5
If your oven has a broiler, now is the time to preheat it; if not, simply increase the temperature.
Step 6
Pour the resulting caramel over the pudding and spread it evenly. Put it back in the oven for 0.5 to 1 minute.
