Description
Toffee Tart
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1 glass
- Butter - 6 oz
- Brown Sugar - 8 teaspoons
- Condensed Milk - 14.1 oz
- Liquid dark chocolate - 5.3 oz
- Hazelnut - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare a 23 cm square baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add 120 g of diced cold butter. Rub it in until it resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in 4 tablespoons of brown sugar. Knead the dough. Press the dough into the bottom of a mold and prick it with a fork.
Step 3
Bake at 356°F for 15–20 minutes, until the dough is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan.
Step 4
In a non-stick saucepan, combine 50 g of butter, 4 tablespoons of sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to the minimum and simmer for about 5 minutes or longer, until the mixture thickens, becomes pale yellow, and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Step 5
Spread the mixture in an even layer. Allow it to cool. Once cooled, melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Place the nuts on the mixture, pour the melted chocolate over everything, and put it in a cool place (I usually leave such things in the refrigerator overnight).
