Description
Traditional English Christmas pudding
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 7.9 oz
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 7.9 oz
- Butter - 7.9 oz
- Breadcrumbs - 7.9 oz
- Fruit Marmalade - 7.9 oz
- Raisins - 7.9 oz
- Dried Apricots - 7.9 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
- Farm fresh eggs - 3 pieces
- Milk - 3 tablespoons
- Brandy - 3 tablespoons
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 piece
- Clarified Butter - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and butter in a blender until it resembles breadcrumbs (you can also mix all the ingredients and chop them with a knife). Transfer the dough to a deep bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well and make a wish!
Step 2
Divide the dough into 2 parts. Grease 2 liter baking molds with softened butter, fill them with the dough, and smooth the top. Cover with parchment paper or baking paper and double layer of foil. Leave overnight. Place each mold in a larger pot and pour hot water into the pot until it reaches halfway up the molds.
Step 3
Place the pot on the stove for a gentle simmer for 20 minutes, then transfer to the oven to cook slowly for 6-8 hours (or overnight). The longer the pudding cooks, the better it will be.
Step 4
This pudding can be made in advance. On the day of serving, wrap the pudding molds in foil and place them in a preheated oven for 2-3 hours.
Step 5
Serve with a sauce made from brandy, cognac, or whiskey (make a simple sauce using cornstarch and add 3-4 teaspoons of cognac).
