It is not necessary to use a piping bag; you can also scoop the pastries with spoons.
Ingredients
- Butter - 2.5 oz
- Water - 8 fl oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Wheat Flour - 5.3 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Honey - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the dough. Place the butter and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and add the flour. Mix well. Heat while stirring for about a minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Step 2
Transfer the dough into a piping bag.
Step 3
Heat the oil (about 300 ml) and, using the piping bag, fry the pastries until golden brown.
Step 4
Transfer the finished pastries to paper towels.
Step 5
For the syrup, mix all the ingredients and place over heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 7–10 minutes.
Step 6
Soak the tulumba in the syrup. It can be served.
