Tuna, Onion, and Tomato Pie
Ingredients
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Salt - ½ tablespoon
- Water - 4 tablespoons
- Onion - 4 pieces
- Canned tuna in its own juice - 2 cans
- Pitted olives - 1 can
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 5.3 oz
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Herbs - 1 bunch
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- 10% cream - 2 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl with flour, chop the butter, add salt, add water, and knead the dough.
Step 2
It should form a ball.
Step 3
Line a round baking dish with parchment paper, place the dough on it, and form the edges.
Step 4
Pre-bake in the oven at 392°F for about 7–10 minutes.
Step 5
Slice the onions into half-rings and sauté until golden, then place them on the dough.
Step 6
Drain the water from the tuna, break it into pieces with a fork, and evenly distribute it over the onions.
Step 7
Chop the herbs (dill, parsley, basil, dried basil) and sprinkle them on top.
Step 8
Slice the olives into rings and scatter them over the herbs.
Step 9
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Step 10
Top with sliced tomatoes.
Step 11
Prepare the filling: beat 2 eggs, add cream, beat again, and carefully pour the filling evenly over the pie.
Step 12
Place in the oven for about 30 minutes at 392°F.
Step 13
Let cool before serving.
