Tuna Pies
Ingredients
- Kefir - 7 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 3 fl oz
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 14.1 oz
- Tuna - 1 can
- Cheese Spread - 3.5 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Warm the kefir and pour it into a deep bowl.
Step 2
Slightly warm the sunflower oil and pour it into the kefir.
Step 3
Add 1 heaping tablespoon of sugar.
Step 4
Add salt.
Step 5
Mix with a wooden spatula.
Step 6
Add dry yeast to the flour and sift it into the kefir mixture.
Step 7
Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Cover the bowl with a towel and place it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.
Step 8
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it with sunflower oil.
Step 9
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 10
Finely chop the onion.
Step 11
Drain the liquid from the can. Mash the tuna with a fork. Mix the cheese, onion, mayonnaise, and tuna until smooth.
Step 12
Form a small patty from the dough, place the filling in the center, and pinch the edges.

Optionally, you can make small cuts with scissors for decoration.

Place the pies on the baking sheet and brush with egg yolk. Bake for 20–25 minutes at 392°F.

Serve at the table.
