Tyrolean Pie

Ingredients

  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
  • Sugar - ½ cup
  • Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour - 1½ cups
  • Vanilla salt - 2 teaspoons
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Fresh Berries - 17.6 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

First, soften the butter, add the eggs and sugar. Mix everything until you achieve a homogeneous consistency.

Step 2

Next, sift the flour and mix it with salt and baking powder. Add this mixture to the egg mixture and knead a uniform dough.

Step 3

Then, line a baking pan with parchment paper, place half of the dough into it, pressing it down well and forming edges. Put the remaining half of the dough in the refrigerator for about thirty minutes to firm up.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 320°F. After that, place the pan with the dough in the oven for five minutes. After five minutes, increase the temperature to 374°F and bake for another seven minutes.

Step 5

While the dough is baking, mix the fruits or berries with vanilla sugar (if using fruits, cut them into small pieces).

Step 6

Then, remove the pan with the dough from the oven and spread the berry and fruit filling on top of the crust.

Step 7

Take the dough that was in the refrigerator, grate it, sprinkle it over the berries, and bake for another thirty minutes.

Step 8

The pie can be garnished with a fresh sprig of mint.
