Vanilla Bento Cake
Ingredients
- Butter - 3.7 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 5.6 oz
- Vanilla extract - 1½ spoons
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 3.5 oz
- Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 10.6 oz
- 33% Cream - 2 fl oz
- Fresh Berries - to taste
- Pastry decorations - to taste
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Grease a 12 cm diameter baking pan with butter and line it with parchment paper.
Step 3
Beat room temperature butter and 100 grams of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4
Add the eggs and 0.5 teaspoon of vanilla paste, and mix well.
Step 5
Sift in the flour and baking powder, then mix again.
Step 6
Transfer the dough to a baking dish and create a slight indentation in the center to prevent the cake from rising too much. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
Step 7
Check the cake for doneness with a skewer. Leave the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and cool on a wire rack.
Step 8
For the cream, beat together the cream cheese, vanilla paste, heavy cream, and 60 grams of powdered sugar until smooth.
Step 9
Set aside 2 tablespoons of cream and tint it with your favorite food coloring. You can use this to decorate the cake or to write a message.
Step 10
Cut the cooled cake layer, spread cream on it, and stack them on top of each other. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes (or in the freezer for 10) to allow the cream to set, making it easier to work with the cake.

Also, cover the sides of the cake with cream. Return the cake to the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Step 12
Decorate the cake before serving. Serve with tea or coffee.
