Description

Vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting

Ingredients

  • Butter - 6.7 oz
  • Sugar - 9.5 oz
  • All-purpose flour - 7.9 oz
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Vanilla extract - 4 teaspoons
  • Egg whites - 1½ pieces
  • Cream Cheese - 12 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
  • Sunflower Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Milk - 1 cup

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Batter: Take a baking pan (15 cm), grease it with sunflower oil and lightly dust with flour, cut a circle from parchment paper and place it at the bottom of the pan.

Step 2

Mix butter (70 g) and sugar until crumbly.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.

Step 4

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, also gradually add milk, and mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 347°F.

Step 6

Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla and egg whites to the batter, mix until smooth.

Step 7

Divide the batter into 3 parts and bake each for 25 minutes, checking with a toothpick (it took me a little less time). Before removing the baked layer from the pan, let it cool for 15 minutes.

Step 8

Frosting: Mix the remaining butter with powdered sugar until smooth.

Step 9

Add cream cheese and vanilla (2 teaspoons), mix thoroughly or beat with a mixer.

Step 10

Spread frosting between the layers, and frost the outside of the cake (it's best to use a spatula, but a spoon or knife works too).

Step 11

The base for the cake is ready; you can decorate it as you wish: berries, candies, coconut flakes, nuts, etc. You can also add a layer of jam or preserves.
