Vanilla Cookies with Chocolate Chips

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 6.3 oz
  • Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Salted Butter - 4.1 oz
  • Granulated sugar - 2.6 oz
  • Brown Sugar - 2.6 oz
  • Egg white - 1 piece
  • Vanilla extract - ½ teaspoon
  • 70% Dark Chocolate - 6 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Sift the flour into a bowl, add the baking powder and salt.

Step 2

Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, using a paddle attachment on a mixer at high speed. Switch to low speed and slowly add the egg. Pour in the vanilla extract. Turn off the mixer.

Step 3

Using a rubber spatula, fold the flour mixture into the batter until well combined.

Step 4

Add the chocolate chips to the dough. On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a log (25x5 cm) and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least two hours until the dough is firm.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 338°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 6

Slice the chilled dough into 20 pieces and place them on the baking sheets spaced slightly apart. Bake for 12–15 minutes until they are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets, then transfer them to an airtight container.
