Description
Vegan Focaccia without Yeast
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Sea Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - to taste
- Olive Oil - 1 fl oz
- Water - 1 cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the flour with salt and sugar, then add the oil. You can use any refined vegetable oil instead of olive oil. Stir well.
Step 2
Add clean water. About 1 cup, but you may need more. Knead the dough until it is elastic and dry. Therefore, add as much flour as the dough can take. Knead actively, the dough likes it.
Step 3
If you have time, let the dough rest. The dough improves if left in the refrigerator overnight, making the focaccia fluffier.
Step 4
Take a small ball of dough and shape it into a thin round flatbread. You can bake it on parchment paper. Roll out the focaccia directly on a hot baking sheet.
Step 5
Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and dried herbs, such as oregano. All to taste.
Step 6
Place in an oven preheated to 200–428°F. Increase the heat to 482°F. 7 minutes is an approximate baking time. Watch for browning on the top and sides.
Step 7
Drizzle with olive oil on top and serve. This focaccia turns out very light and crispy, buttery, and delicious. The dough layers and can rise in the oven.
