Vegan millet pudding with pear
Ingredients
- Millet - 5 oz
- Water - 15 fl oz
- Coconut Milk - 10 fl oz
- Pears - 5 oz
- Brown Sugar - 0 oz
- Vanilla extract - ½ teaspoon
- Cardamom - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Pour millet with water and place on the heat.
Step 3
Bring to a boil and cook covered on low heat for 30–40 minutes.
Step 4
Cut the pear into small cubes.
Step 5
Add coconut milk, pear, cardamom, vanilla, salt, and ⅔ of the sugar to the porridge.
Step 6
Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Step 7
Distribute the cooked porridge into individual ramekins and place in the oven preheated to 355°F for 15 minutes.
Step 8
Remove the ramekins from the oven and increase the temperature to 430°F.
Step 9
Sprinkle the pudding with the remaining sugar and return to the oven for another 5–10 minutes until a caramel crust forms.
Step 10
Serve the pudding hot with tea.
