Vegan Sunflower Halva
Ingredients
- Sunflower Seeds - 1 cup
- Honey - to taste
- Raisins - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Use shelled sunflower seeds. Lightly toast them in a pan or in the oven.
Step 2
Once the seeds are toasted, place them in a coffee grinder/blender and blend until they form a uniform wet paste.
Step 3
Transfer the 'paste' to a bowl, add honey to taste (I added 1.5 tablespoons; it turns out moist, but if you prefer drier halva, it’s better to use less honey) and raisins to taste. You can skip the raisins, but I like the flavor of halva with them.
Step 4
Shape the halva into a small 'log'. Wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator to cool. Sweet, delicious homemade halva is ready to serve.
