Ingredients
- Cottage cheese - 8.8 oz
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat the eggs with a mixer. Add the sugar and beat everything together.
Step 2
Add the baking soda (do not extinguish), salt (to taste — just a little), and cottage cheese. Mix everything.
Step 3
Pour in the flour and mix again. The dough will be quite thick and sticky.
Step 4
Remove from the container, dusting your hands and the table with flour — about half a glass will be used for rolling.
Step 5
Next, divide the dough into three parts and roll each out to a thickness of about 0.5–0.7 cm.
Step 6
Cut into circles with a large glass, and use a small lid to cut out a smaller circle in each one. You will get about 25 bagels or rings.
Step 7
Heat oil to a height of 3 cm over moderate heat — check the oil's readiness by dropping in a tiny piece of dough; if bubbles start to form around it, the oil is at the right temperature.
Step 8
Fry very quickly until golden brown.
Step 9
Then fry the rings — they will turn into balls.
Step 10
Place the finished bagels on a napkin to absorb excess oil. Optionally, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar.
