- Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
- Sugar - 10.6 oz
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - 0.4 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Vanilla salt - to taste
- Grated Ginger Root - to taste
- Cinnamon - to taste
- Turmeric - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 3 spoons
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take 300 grams of flour, prepare a sponge by dissolving yeast in water first. Place it in a warm spot for 3.5 to 4 hours.
Step 2
Add the remaining flour, butter, salt, egg, 100 grams of sugar, and spices. Knead into a firm dough and set aside for 60 to 90 minutes.
Step 3
Divide all the pretzel dough into pieces of 100 grams each. Roll them into ropes and shape into pretzels. Let them rest for 1 to 2 hours.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 200–428°F. Brush the pretzels with egg wash. Place them in the oven for 15–20 minutes.
Step 5
Mix the egg white, 200 grams of sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until you achieve a smooth icing, then coat the finished products with it.
