Description

Another simple Soviet recipe, one of the favorite childhood desserts — rolls with sweetened condensed milk. Some had them made by their mom, while others bought them at the local bakery. They are incredibly simple and unbelievably delicious. If nostalgia has just hit you and you have a waffle maker at home — you're already on the path to success. There are a couple of important points: first, you need to wrap the hot waffle around a metal tube immediately. If you don't have one handy, you can roll up something similar out of foil in advance. Second, don't pour the sweetened condensed milk cream into the waffle tube right away — let it cool down properly so that the cream doesn't start to melt and run out.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
  • Butter - 12.3 oz
  • Sugar - 7.1 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk with Coffee - 1 can
  • Salt - a pinch

Step by Step guide

Step 1 Image

Step 1

Beat 200 grams of softened butter with sugar, then add the eggs and mix. Gradually incorporate the flour and knead until you have a uniform dough with a consistency similar to pancake batter.

Step 2 Image

Step 2

Preheat the waffle maker and pour about 50 ml of batter into the center, close it, and cook for 3–4 minutes until the batter is golden brown.

Step 3

Immediately roll the hot waffle into a tube using a special metal tube. If you don't have one, you can wrap a pencil in several layers of foil to add thickness. As soon as the waffle cools, it will lose its flexibility and break, so you need to act quickly. Repeat this process for the entire batch of batter.

Step 4

For the cream, beat the boiled condensed milk with the remaining butter and transfer it to a piping bag.

Step 5

Fill the tubes with cream from both ends. The wafers should be cooled; otherwise, the cream will start to melt and ooze out.
