Wheat Bread with Onions

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
  • Sugar - 1.2 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Dry yeast - 0.7 oz
  • Milk - 4 fl oz
  • Water - 17 fl oz
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel, chop, and sauté the onion in olive oil.

Step 2

Beat the butter with the egg and salt.

Step 3

Dissolve the sugar in the milk and the yeast in the water. Combine the two mixtures. Add the butter mixture, onion, sifted flour, and knead the dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 cm and cut into squares.

Step 5

Place the squares on a greased baking sheet and let them rest for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 374°F.
