Description
You can bake pies with both savory and sweet fillings from this dough. I used to make only an open apple pie with this dough, but one day I tried baking a pie with cabbage, and I was pleased with the result. Since then, I make pies with practically any filling, both open and closed.
Ingredients
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 3 cups
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Dry yeast - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, chop the butter in a mixing bowl and leave it in a warm place. When the butter becomes soft, add the flour and mix thoroughly with a fork.
Step 2
Pour the yeast into the bowl with the butter and flour, and add warm water. Add sugar and salt, and mix. Cover the prepared dough with a lid and place it in a warm place to let it 'rise' for 40–90 minutes depending on the room temperature.
Step 3
Then, knead the dough and let it rise again. The second rise usually takes less time: about 30–50 minutes.
Step 4
After that, use the dough as intended.
